The holiday season is about to begin and most of us will do some form of traveling during the holidays. Here’s a few ways to save money during those trips you will take.
Places to stay during your holiday traveling
Family and friends will open their home and arms to you. But, if you are like me I don’t want to inconvenience another person.
Personally, I would rather find a place to rent. You have many options, so just don’t book a hotel.
AirBnb is a great safe choice and if you have a large family, to me it is the best option.
I enjoy renting an entire house because you don’t have to worry about being too loud in a hotel.
If you are unable to find something in your area, consider an Extended Stay hotel.
These hotels are designed with a long term stay in mind and you’ll probably be travelling for more than a day or two.
Places to visit during your holiday traveling
If you are wanting to travel somewhere, but don’t want to go to the popular spots check here to see whats out there.
I’d rather go to a place off season, rather than paying the high cost of on season pricing.
This wouldn’t save on park admission, but it would save on the hotel cost.
If you plan on flying over the holidays member to buy travel insurance.
Allianz is great company to buy travel insurance from.
If snow is a possibility in your final destination buying insurance will reimburse you just in case of flight cancellations.
You work hard for your money and vacations are expensive, so insure it.
Dining options while traveling
If you choose to do an AirBnb maybe you can use a crock pot to have meals ready when you get back to the house.
Here’s a great book with 1400 crock pot meals, more than enough options to feed your hungry family.
If your family is plentiful, maybe consider buying a buffet style crock pot. You could cook 3 different options at one time, which I really love.
A buffet style is also great for New Year’s parties. We all love to try new places when we travel, maybe you could find a coupon here.
These coupons saved me so much when I lived in Charlotte. I used them at least weekly. I loved eating at all the new restaurants in town.
Travel safe during the holidays, enjoy your time with family, and have lots of fun. Try to get as many pictures and memories as possible.
If you find that one picture is just the greatest, you can turn it into something to see everyday. Here is a great place to do that.
