Start a website today with these tips. It can be very daunting task.
But do not fear the unknown, this is our military mindset. Go into a dark room that’s unsecured and unknown, make it secure and safe for everyone else.
That’s the same thing you are doing with a website, your making it safe for everyone else to use and you are providing a service or helping another brother or sister.
5 Tips to Start a Website
First think you need to do is think of a website name and see if it’s already registered. This is the easy part when you start a website.
You can do this on Bluehost. I’ve posted a tutorial on how to use Bluehost here. Bluehost is a great website because you are able to check if your domain name is available and then you can purchase it there as well.
The next thing you should do is register an email for your website and link the two together. You can set up a contact page so people can reach out to you if they need help or have a question.
I did things backwards, but it worked out for me. If you see your domain name is available, check and see if the email address is available as well. You’d hate to not get the same email address as your website.
I would highly recommend using Genesis Framework to code and design your site. It’s so cheap and easy to use. I have zero website experience and you see what all I have accomplished, with help from a few friends and Google searches on things I didn’t understand.
Restored 316 Framework
Restored 316 framework is another tool you can use to design your theme or background when you start a website. Your website needs to stand out and look different than others. Don’t make a bland cookie cutter website.
All websites need to stand out and make people remember your site and want to keep coming back to visit your site over and over.
The biggest thing about designing a great site is you want people to refer others to it.
Using Fiver was a huge help to start a website. I sent out a request to build me a logo and I have to say I love the design that I purchased.
The best thing about this is that I now own this design and I paid less than $12 for it.
I use my logo from my website on my business cards, which I got a great deal on from Staples.
My logo makes my website unique and quickly shows what my content will be about.
Make sure your website provides you happiness, I enjoy logging on and seeing what new content I can add. I’m in this to make other lives better.
Hopefully you learned something about building a webpage and following a passion of yours. It’s fun to see it grow from concept to live. Good luck and have fun.
